Hey Friends – A little update on Jazz Mafia for y’all:
We’ve been laying low for a number of reasons and fortunately all of them are good. The main one for me is that I’m composing the music for the Jazz Mafia Symphony “Beats, Bows and Brass” which premieres on Saturday April 18th in San Francisco at the Palace of Fine Arts. the 50 piece orchestra will feature Realistic Orchestra, The Shotgun Wedding Quintet and Hip-Hop Symphony, Brass Mafia, Supertaster plus Dublin, Joe Bagale, Karyn Paige, Aima the Dreamer, Gedeon, Seneca, Chris McGee and special guest Lyrics Born. If you would like to help with promotions and/or organizing the event please contact me by responding to this email. Also I’m interested in doing a raffle/fundraiser within the event that would benefit music in schools so if you have any experience with such things and are interested in helping with that please let me know.
In addition, since we are moving Jazz Mafia Tuesdays form our old home of Brunos to a new location, we have decided to wait until after the Symphony concert in April to have our Grand Opening of Tuesdays at our new home in the Mission. I can’t say the name and location until next week but I can assure you that it will be our best home yet and is a new venue that will be dedicated to promoting LIVE MUSIC! YES!!!!

This is a new group and it’s our second performance. We have a new set of never before heard original songs as well as another set that has only been performed once. The songs are composed by all the members of the group and range in influences from rock, classical, jazz, ambient and world, all performed acoustic of course. The Poppy is a great place to see such an intimate ensemble. i hope you can make it before you go hit the clubs cause it’s an early show.
