After almost 3 years in the making, the first full length studio album from the Shotgun Wedding Quintet is finally recorded, mixed, mastered, designed and will be available at our CD release party on Saturday, July 21st at the Independent in San Francisco. The event is sure to be memorable and will include: The Shotgun Wedding Hip-Hop Symphony, Flying Lotus (Warp Records) Willow The Gaslamp Killer, 4-One Phonics, Centipede and hosted by Kirby Dominant.

The album features 12 tracks and over 30 musicians including Realistic Orchestra, Will Bernard, Jesus Diaz, Eachbox, Michael Bluestein, The Shotgun Wedding Hip-Hop Symphony and many more. The album was tracked at the now defunct Coast Recorders in San Francisco, a place of legend and lore. Many late nights were spent at Coast as well as snaking late night next door at King Diner. We worked for about a year tracking the album in that building with some additional tracking in the East Bay at the home of Ben Yonas, the executive producer and man who made the whole record possible.

The art, design and layout for the album were done by our Jazz Mafia resident artist Rachel Hornaday. Rachel combined tons of different art mediums and experimented a lot to come up with something that looks and feels like the vibe of the music included in the CD. Rachel is also currently working on some more t-shirts and stickers as well as some sweet posters.

There will be a Sampler Cd available June 20th featuring parts of many of the songs and it is hosted by our good friend Lew! Aspect McCarthy created the mix we think you will dig it.
